We’re always talking about how to help you get the best possible tan, the right lotions, the right prep, and our top tanning tips. But to keep delivering the experience you love, we need one small (but very important!) thing from you in return:

👉 Only using the correct products on our Sunbeds.

We know it can be frustrating if you’ve just bought a new lotion online, only to find out it’s on our banned list but trust us, there’s a very good reason for it.

The Truth About Sunbed Damage

Below, you’ll see a REAL photo of a damaged acrylic panel from one of our Sunbeds. Many people assume this kind of damage happens naturally over time just from regular use but that’s actually not true.

These large cracks and splits are caused by banned products used on the bed.

When certain lotions or oils are applied to the skin, they can seep into the acrylic surface. As the bed heats up and the acrylic expands, those products react with the material, eventually causing cracking, weakening, and permanent damage.

While jewellery can cause surface scratches, this type of deep damage comes from product transfer, not wear and tear.

Why This Matters

Replacing Sunbed acrylics costs a lot of money! We want you to relax, switch off, and enjoy your tanning session without worrying about a thing — but to keep the salon running safely and smoothly, we need everyone to follow the same rules.

That’s why you’ll see our banned products poster displayed not just at the front of the salon, but in every single cubicle.

What You Can (and Can’t) Use on the Beds

✅ Professional Sunbed Lotions ONLY

We can’t believe we still have to say this but products like Nivea moisturisers, baby oil, or everyday body lotions should never be used on a Sunbed.

These products are formulated for completely different purposes and can cause serious damage to your skin as well the sunbed acrylic.

🚫 Ingredients We Don’t Allow

Even some professional products aren’t suitable for our beds. We avoid lotions that contain:

  • Oils
  • Petroleum-based ingredients
  • Alcohol-based ingredients

These ingredients are the main culprits behind acrylic damage.

We’re not here to bash other brands — we simply want to protect our equipment so we can continue offering you a high-quality tanning experience.

But What About Body Oils We Stock?

Great question!

Yes, we do stock body oils but these are DRY oils. That means they are designed to absorb quickly into the skin, rather than sitting on the surface and transferring onto the bed.

This makes them safe for Sunbed use while still keeping your skin nourished and glowing.

So all we ask is…
